Hi and welcome to my home page. My name is John Lionarons and I live right outside of Philadelphia, PA  USA.
I think I must be one of the luckiest people I know because I play music for a living.  Though it is something of a mixed
blessing to wear all the many hats listed above.  On the one hand it takes a lot of time and effort to stay proficient at
so many things; on the other hand I rarely get bored.  And I DO seem to be working all the time.  I've also had the
chance to meet and work with some very talented people.

I'm best known around these parts as a dulcimer player since I've brought back 3 trophies (and prize dulcimers) from the
NATIONAL HAMMERED DULCIMER CHAMPIONSHIPS in Winfield, KS.  But in the past few years I've been
spending an increasing amount of time writing and performing music for a number of professional theater companies.
A tremendous thrill for me last year was being nominated for a BARRYMORE AWARD (it's like a Tony but in the
shape a cheesesteak) for Best Original Musical Score for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at  PEOPLES' LIGHT AND THEATRE COMPANY (Malvern, PA).

I'm very fortunate to work with a number of wonderful musicians and other performers here in Philly as well as farther
afield. You can meet some COOL FOLKS at this page.
